Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring for a Medicaid Analyst (levels 1–3) to support Medicaid eligibility determinations in Region 3 (Lafourche Parish). This is a full-time, in-office role based in Baton Rouge, LA. The role involves evaluating applications, interviewing applicants, verifying documentation, applying federal/state policy, and working in a high-volume call-center environment.


What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking candidates who can learn and apply Medicaid policy and make timely, accurate eligibility decisions. Typical duties include:

  • Review applications received by phone, electronically, mail, email, or in person and determine program eligibility
  • Conduct interviews and collateral contacts to verify applicant information
  • Interpret and apply federal, state, and agency policies to determine benefit levels
  • Complete case documentation and examine application packets for timelines and completeness
  • Perform special investigations, fraud/compliance reporting, and referrals to other agencies
  • Work in a call-center environment handling high call volumes while maintaining strong customer service

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates will be considered at Medicaid Analyst 1, 2, or 3 depending on qualifications. Minimum qualifications include one of the following:

  • Three years of social services experience; OR
  • Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
  • A bachelor’s degree

Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours from an accredited college or university credits as one year of experience toward the six-year requirement (maximum substitution = 120 semester hours, equivalent to 4 years).

Position Details

  • Location: Medical Vendor Administration / Eligibility Field Operations — Region 3 / Lafourche Parish (based in Baton Rouge, LA)
  • Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment (temporary appointment that may last up to 48 months)
  • Career Progression: May be filled at Medicaid Analyst 1, 2, or 3 depending on experience and education
  • Employment Type: FULL_TIME

Compensation

Salary range (as listed by the client):

  • Base pay range (public posting): $2,838 – $5,113 per month
  • Example hourly / bi-weekly rates by level (for reference):
    • Medicaid Analyst 1 — $16.42 / hr ($1,313.60 bi-weekly)
    • Medicaid Analyst 2 — $17.56 / hr ($1,404.80 bi-weekly)
    • Medicaid Analyst 3 — $21.27 / hr ($1,701.60 bi-weekly)
  • Position may be eligible for Special Entrance Rates (SER) and premium pay up to $2.00/hr based on longevity
