Confidential Client is hiring a Mechanical Support professional to join their Mission Critical team. This entry-level to early-career role provides hands-on field experience commissioning, testing, and documenting mechanical systems for data centers and other high‑reliability facilities. Expect a mix of office and field work, significant travel, and close mentorship from experienced commissioning engineers.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist with commissioning, testing, and verification of mechanical systems that support mission-critical facilities and data centers.
• Participate in field observations, equipment startup support, and functional testing alongside experienced technical staff.
• Gather and document field data, photos, notes, and system information to support issue tracking and project closeout.
• Support project coordination, site readiness checks, and test preparation; maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Build practical knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, cooling infrastructure, and controls integration.
• Maintain accurate project records, test forms, and issue logs to support successful project outcomes.
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to a collaborative, "People First" team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience or exposure to mechanical systems, facilities operations, commissioning, construction, maintenance, or related technical environments.
• Basic understanding of mechanical equipment, facility systems, or construction activities, with a strong desire to learn.
• Ability to learn technical concepts and apply them in both office and field settings.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and drawings with guidance.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn project and commissioning documentation tools.
• Currently authorized to work in the U.S. full-time.

Preferred

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Building Systems, or related field.
• Exposure to HVAC systems, chilled water systems, building automation, controls, commissioning, or data centers.
• Hands-on technical experience from internships, technician roles, trade programs, military mechanical service, or facility operations.
• Interest in a long-term career in commissioning, building performance, or mission-critical operations.

Working conditions & travel

• Typical travel: Up to 75% (varies by project and location).
• Work environment: Hybrid office + field work. Site visits may include data centers, active construction environments, mechanical rooms, uneven ground, and variable weather.
• Physical requirements: Ability to walk project sites, climb ladders, occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs, and enter confined spaces when needed. Reasonable accommodation provided where appropriate.
• Reports to: Mechanical Lead or assigned project technical lead.
• No supervisory responsibilities for this role.
