What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Propulsion Engineer to join a Boost Control System (BCS) integrated product team (IPT). In this role you will support component-level design and lifecycle activities for gas generator (GG) and related propulsion components, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to hardware qualification and production activities.
- Support mechanical design, assembly, test and troubleshooting of propulsion components (Gas Generator and associated hardware)
- Manage component-level hardware documentation, configuration, and lifecycle activities (qualification, production, sustainment)
- Develop and propose technical solutions; escalate and lead resolution of component issues
- Interpret and produce mechanical models and detailed drawings for manufacture and test
- Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, suppliers and customer (Navy) representatives
- Support test planning, data review, root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Apply engineering lifecycle practices to ensure design maturity and producibility
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- Demonstrated familiarity with mechanical design principles and engineering lifecycle
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Any combination of exposure to engineering project management, propulsion/rocketry, aerodynamics, mechanisms, materials, or fluids
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
Preferred / Desired Skills
- Experience or education in missile, rocket, or aerospace propulsion
- Proficiency with CAD and hardware modeling tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CREO) and MATLAB
- Knowledge of gas/fluid dynamics, energetics, or propellants
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated initiative and leadership potential
- Experience interpreting complex mechanical design models and engineering drawings
- Experience with test hardware build, assembly and data analysis
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-Time Salary Range: $65,500 — $121,700 per year (range provided by Confidential Client; actual offer will consider experience, location, and other factors)
