Role Overview
Confidential client in the Engineering industry is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Process Engineer based in Paradise Valley, AZ. This role supports local clients and virtually supports project teams in other locations. You will work on projects from inception through construction, developing PFDs and P&IDs, performing process calculations, selecting equipment, preparing specifications, and providing support through construction and commissioning.
What You’ll Do
- Support project phases from feasibility and design through construction and commissioning
- Develop and review PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams)
- Perform process calculations and equipment sizing
- Prepare equipment specifications, procurement documents, and portions of bid packages
- Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering and design teams
- Perform field work and support site activities as needed
- Review vendor documentation and accept or reject major items based on materials, equipment, and quality
- Assist with cost estimating, engineering studies, and technical reports
- Draft and interpret designs into working drawings
- Work under supervision with opportunities to increase responsibility; may supervise or coordinate designers on projects
- Travel as required to support clients and project teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required (degree should qualify for licensure in the state of practice)
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) preferred; little or no practical experience acceptable for this entry-level role
- Familiarity with PFD/P&ID development, process calculations, and equipment specification
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work with multi-discipline teams and support virtual project groups
- Willingness to perform field work and travel as needed
- Commitment to applying sound engineering practices and professional judgment
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000 / year (depending on location, education, experience, and directly related certifications)

Location & Travel
- This position is based in Paradise Valley, AZ. Candidates should be willing to travel as required to support local clients and project sites and to coordinate with remote project teams.
