What You’ll Do

You will join a multi-disciplinary engineering team working under the direction of a licensed engineer on new construction and renovation projects across education, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science/technology sectors.

  • Under direct supervision, perform uncomplicated designs of ductwork, piping, controls and equipment selection for HVAC systems; assist with plumbing and fire protection designs as needed.
  • Prepare building load calculations using modeling software under supervisory direction.
  • Assist with energy modeling using appropriate software and parameters under oversight.
  • Support Revit/BIM modeling of HVAC construction drawings across design phases; assist with plumbing and fire protection BIM as required.
  • Help coordinate and draft specification input as a member of the design team.
  • Draft technical reports and deliverables for senior engineer review.
  • Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents.
  • Conduct job-site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress (site walkthroughs frequently required).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date (ABET-accredited program preferred).
  • Knowledge of advanced heat transfer, solar energy principles, and advanced fluid dynamics as applied to HVAC system design.
  • Related internship or co-op experience preferred.
  • EIT certification and/or LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience with engineering design software (e.g., Revit, Trane Trace, Trane 3D Plus) preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range for this role to be filled in Schiller Park, IL: $28.64 to $35.80 per hour. This reflects the anticipated base pay range at the time of posting; actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, education, and skill level.
  • Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
