What You’ll Do
- Assist with the design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing, and fire-protection systems using industry-standard engineering software
- Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing, and basic system calculations to support project designs
- Prepare design documentation, specifications, and technical drawings per codes and internal standards
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and project managers to develop coordinated, integrated MEP solutions
- Communicate with clients to gather requirements and present technical information clearly
- Support project planning, scheduling, and quality-control processes to meet project milestones and client expectations
- Analyze low- to medium-complexity engineering tasks and contribute practical solutions
- Prioritize safety and identify potential risks associated with mechanical systems
- Keep current with industry trends, energy-efficient design practices, and relevant codes
What You’ll Bring
Required education
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Required skills & abilities
- Foundational knowledge of thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics as applied to HVAC and plumbing systems
- Familiarity with HVAC load calculation tools and other industry-standard engineering software
- Basic experience or familiarity with BIM workflows
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow direction from senior engineers
- Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a consulting environment
Preferred
- Prior internship or co-op experience in building design or engineering consulting
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification
