What You’ll Do
This Mechanical Engineering Assistant role supports commercial HVAC engineering and sales projects for a confidential client that represents multiple HVAC manufacturers. You will apply mechanical engineering fundamentals to support estimating, project management, sales engineering, and internal engineering work — helping deliver engineered HVAC solutions for commercial construction projects.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and project specifications
- Learn and apply product knowledge for the HVAC brands the client represents
- Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers (engineers, contractors, sales)
- Perform quantitative take-offs, order entry, and use software tools for estimating and tracking
- Collaborate with Project Management, Estimating, Inside/Outside Sales, and Engineering teams
Responsibilities
- Reading and understanding mechanical drawings and schedules
- Gaining in-depth knowledge of represented HVAC products and systems
- Supplying technical support to both internal colleagues and external partners
- Using computer programs to complete processes such as orders, take-offs, and estimates
- Assisting project teams to ensure accurate, timely deliverables on commercial HVAC projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university — OR 1–2 years related experience/training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable learning product families and manufacturer specifications
- Computer skills preferred: Bluebeam, ordering/ERP systems (Microsoft Navision), Microsoft Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work across teams (estimating, sales, engineering)

- Estimated salary: $49,205 per year (estimated; final compensation will be based on experience)
