About the Role

Confidential Client, a firm in the Engineering industry, is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, engineering, procurement, and product lifecycle management of large-scale, custom-manufactured industrial equipment. In this role you will assist Lead Mechanical Engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce safe, efficient, and code-compliant designs used for fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning.


What You’ll Do

  • Assist with the design of process piping systems, including routing, sizing, materials selection, and pipe supports
  • Design process ductwork systems and develop associated fabrication documentation
  • Review customer specifications, project requirements, applicable codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliant designs
  • Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, and supporting engineering documentation for fabrication, procurement, and construction
  • Evaluate process equipment layouts, general arrangements, utility requirements, and system interfaces for integrated facility designs
  • Provide technical direction and design guidance to designers producing fabrication and construction drawing packages
  • Review Issued for Approval (IFA) and Issued for Manufacture (IFM) drawing packages for technical accuracy and compliance
  • Evaluate, select, and specify equipment, piping components, valves, instrumentation, and support systems based on performance and lifecycle needs
  • Coordinate with electrical engineers on power distribution, power panels, and control panels
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses (e.g., FEA, CFD, thermal and vibration analysis) to support mechanical, structural, fluid, thermal, and process designs and to troubleshoot manufacturing or reliability issues

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • Entry level up to five (5) years of Mechanical Engineering experience
  • AutoCAD and drafting experience preferred
  • Experience developing drawings for fabrication of piping systems preferred
  • Experience specifying pumps, support equipment, and/or HVAC equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of typical piping materials and piping component applications preferred
  • Strong time management and ability to complete designs on schedule and within budget
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Solid computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Windows-based engineering tools

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work performed in environments where short-term exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and variable weather/temperatures is possible
  • Required to follow safety standards and use personal protective equipment when designated
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to talk and hear
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. regularly is required
  • Exposure to moving parts and electrical equipment requires adherence to safety protocols

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: USD $69,729.00 – USD $107,537.00 per year
