What You’ll Do
This confidential client is hiring Associate Mechanical Engineers and Mechanical Engineers to join a Mission Systems / Marine Systems team based in Polfry, MS. You will contribute to launcher, propulsion, and power generation systems for naval submarines and surface ships. Day-to-day work includes hands-on mechanical design, CAD modeling, analysis support, prototype build/test, and design-for-manufacture considerations while working on classified programs.
- Develop and revise mechanical designs for marine systems and assemblies
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings (SolidWorks, NX, or similar)
- Support machine design, tolerance stack-ups, material selection, and DFMEA
- Prepare test plans, support lab and field testing, and document results
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — electrical, systems, manufacturing, and suppliers
- Support configuration control and technical documentation for classified programs
- Travel as needed (approximately 10%) and support program requirements for security-cleared work
Qualifications
Basic requirements differ by level. Candidates must be eligible for U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance.
Associate Mechanical Engineer (Entry or recent graduate)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field (completed or near completion)
- Eligible to obtain U.S. government security clearance
Mechanical Engineer (Graduate level)
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field (completed or near completion)
- Eligible to obtain U.S. government security clearance
General requirements for both levels
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to work on classified programs and meet program security requirements
- Ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance within a reasonable period
Preferred Qualifications
- Overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or equivalent
- Coursework or practical experience in machine design, mechanisms, or mechanical systems
- Prior internship or project experience working on hardware development, test, or manufacturing support
Compensation & Benefits
- Associate Mechanical Engineer salary range: $59,900 to $89,900 per year
- Mechanical Engineer salary range: $72,100 to $108,100 per year
The ranges above are provided as a guideline. Final offers consider factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, and market conditions. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and eligibility for benefits such as health coverage, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid time off, and paid holidays. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.

- Job location: Polfry, MS (on-site at the mission systems facility)
- Travel: Up to ~10% (program dependent)
- Security: Work involves classified programs; the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance and Special Access Program access is required. U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite.
