Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for an onsite, full‑time role in Painted Post, NY. This early‑career engineering position offers hands‑on experience across mechanical design, equipment installation, startup, and manufacturing support. The role typically requires ~50% travel (domestic and occasional international), and relocation assistance is available. This position does not support immigration sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to engineering project teams to deliver robust, cost‑effective mechanical systems for manufacturing facilities
• Support the design, debugging, installation, and startup of mechanical and thermal systems
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues; support project execution and field commissioning
• Assist with prototype, proof‑of‑concept, and validation testing of designs and systems
• Coordinate with external engineering firms, equipment vendors, system integrators, and suppliers
• Develop and review fabrication and installation drawings; help ensure as‑built documentation meets standards
• Participate in system integration, field support, training, and handover to plant personnel during project phases

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace, Chemical, Mechatronics considered)
• 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience (including internships or co‑ops) in manufacturing, mechanical systems, process equipment, or project engineering
• Academic or practical exposure to mechanical design, thermal/heat transfer systems, or fluid systems
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a matrixed, team‑based project environment

Preferred qualifications

• Experience using 2D/3D CAD or modeling tools (SolidWorks preferred)
• Hands‑on experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, or startup
• Exposure to prototype development, proof‑of‑concept testing, or design validation
• Interest in field work and on‑site troubleshooting in manufacturing settings

Location, schedule & travel

• Work location: Painted Post, NY (onsite)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week with some schedule flexibility as needed
• Travel: Approximately 50% on average; may include extended domestic site support and occasional international travel
• Relocation assistance available

Compensation & benefits

• Salary range (full‑time): $69,279 – $95,259 (starting pay depends on location, experience, education, and other job‑related factors)
