About the Role
The Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Mechanical Engineer I to join the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) team in Louisville, CO. This role supports the design, analysis, testing, and documentation of mechanical systems used in assembly, integration, and test operations for flight vehicles and related ground support hardware.
You will assist senior engineers on tasks such as fixtures, shipping containers, pressure panels, production tooling, and transportation/offload fixtures, collect and analyze test or performance data, and prepare technical reports. Strong communication, attention to detail, and an eagerness to learn in a collaborative environment are essential.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems and components used for Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T).
- Support development of lift and holding fixtures, production tooling, shipping containers, pressure panels, and transportation/offload fixtures.
- Collect, organize, and analyze test and performance data for mechanical, propulsion, structures, or environmental systems.
- Prepare clear technical documentation, drawings, and reports to communicate design rationale and test results.
- Work within cross-functional teams and follow direction from senior engineers to meet project goals and schedules.
- Help troubleshoot and develop solutions for routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (entry-level).
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, standards, and concepts.
- Ability to apply technical principles to develop solutions for routine engineering problems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to follow direction from senior engineers.
- Ability to work effectively in team environments and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or co-op experience in a mechanical engineering or related environment.
- Familiarity with mechanical system design, analysis, and test methods (structures, propulsion, environmental systems).
- Experience with CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, or similar) and familiarity with drafting/detailing standards (ASME Y14.5 GD&T).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and material properties as they relate to mechanical design.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range (annual): $77,234.00 - $106,196.75
- Your actual base pay will be determined based on experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market factors.
