What You’ll Do
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems for aerospace and defense applications.
- Support creation and execution of test plans, including assembly, verification, and validation activities.
- Perform basic analyses and simulations (FEA, kinematics, loads) to validate designs and inform trade-offs.
- Prepare technical documentation, engineering drawings, and reports for design reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, systems, manufacturing, test) to meet requirements and schedules.
- Troubleshoot design and test issues; implement corrective actions and design updates.
- Participate in configuration control, design reviews, and product lifecycle activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience (entry-level to early-career).
- Working knowledge of mechanical design principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Experience or familiarity with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and basic analyses.
- Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to document and present technical information.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, or project experience in the aerospace or defense sector.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
- Knowledge of parametric CAD workflows, model-based definition, and manufacturing/production considerations.
- Understanding of environmental and qualification requirements for aircraft/space components.
- Hands-on experience with test setups, instrumentation, or lab-based verification.
Working Conditions & Compensation
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Location: Lonetree, CO (on-site or hybrid as business needs dictate).
- Occasional travel may be required.
- This role requires extended periods working at a computer and participation in lab or test activities.
- Security requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance — U.S. citizenship is required.
- Estimated starting salary range (Colorado): $71,338.47 - $98,090.40. Compensation varies based on experience, skills, and other factors.
