About the Role
Confidential Client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I in Eudowood, MD. This entry-level engineering position supports mechanical system design and the preparation of construction documents for building projects. The role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers with hands-on experience or coursework in HVAC and mechanical design tools.
Purpose
Perform mechanical design tasks across project phases, including development of construction documents, coordination with project teams, and field observation to document existing conditions.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Design mechanical systems in compliance with applicable codes and sound engineering principles.
- Produce accurate construction documents and meet milestone schedules within project budgets.
- Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and occasionally clients.
- Conduct field observation visits to document existing site conditions.
- Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to deliver sequential, efficient design work.
- Assist with construction cost estimates, specifications, and review of shop drawings/RFIs when directed.
- Address comments from clients and review authorities and revise designs accordingly.
- Continue developing working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and applicable HVAC modeling tools.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required at time of employment.
- Entry-level position — no prior experience required; internships or co-op experience are a plus.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit; experience with CHVAC/RHVAC, Trane Trace, and/or eQuest is beneficial.
- EIT and LEED accreditation preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $77,500 - $87,500 per year (commensurate with experience).

Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Primarily indoor professional office environment.
- Occasional field/ construction-site visits requiring mobility around a site, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
- Frequent use of standard office equipment and computers.
