Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Mechanical Engineer (multiple levels: Entry, Mid, Senior) to support plant engineering and operations at a power generation facility in Huntingtown, Maryland (onsite). This role focuses on technical engineering problem solving, equipment/systems evaluations, design reviews, and supporting outage and emergency response activities in a nuclear/clean-energy environment.
What You’ll Do
- Provide in-depth mechanical engineering expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analyses, projects and programs supporting plant operations.
- Investigate, diagnose and resolve equipment and system problems; recommend corrective actions and design improvements.
- Lead and manage engineering tasks from scoping through implementation, ensuring configuration control and compliance with applicable codes, standards and procedures.
- Perform independent research, engineering studies, and failure analyses to support technical decisions.
- Prepare plans, specifications and technical documentation; ensure accuracy, completeness and timely delivery.
- Support outage activities, emergency response, departmental coverage and other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Entry Level (E01 - New Graduate)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial or Nuclear).
- Must meet site access requirements (including medical/fitness and background screening) as applicable.
Mid-level (E02)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial or Nuclear).
- Minimum 2 years of nuclear or related engineering experience.
- Must meet site access requirements (including medical/fitness and background screening) as applicable.
Senior (E03)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial or Nuclear).
- Minimum 5 years of nuclear or related engineering experience.
- Must meet site access requirements (including medical/fitness and background screening) as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- Advanced technical degree or related post-graduate coursework.
- Experience or coursework in Fire Protection engineering preferred but not required.
- Strong familiarity with industry codes, regulatory requirements and nuclear plant standards.
Compensation & Benefits
- Entry-Level: $87,000 per year (estimated).
- Mid-Level: $92,700 – $114,000 per year (estimated).
- Senior: $122,400 – $154,000 per year (estimated).

Location & Work Environment
- Work location: Huntingtown, Maryland — on-site at a power generation facility (nuclear operations). Candidates must be able to satisfy access and medical requirements for the site.
