Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer / Engineering Technologist to join their energy operations in Hallsville, TX. This role supports engineering projects and routine analyses under the guidance of senior engineers and contributes to safe, reliable electric service delivery.

What You’ll Do

• Apply entry-level engineering knowledge to solve well-defined mechanical problems and support larger projects.
• Assist higher-level engineers with analyses, design tasks, and project documentation.
• Learn and apply relevant standards, codes and regulations for assigned work.
• Contribute to project planning activities (scheduling techniques such as CPM/PERT), prepare basic cost estimates, and track project status.
• Support routine engineering investigations and propose improvements or new approaches.
• Prepare and assist with technical reports and presentations.
• Coordinate work with other team members and contractors as required.
• Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and request guidance when needed.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or a Bachelor’s in Engineering Technology plus a certified PE license) — entry-level / new graduates encouraged to apply.
• Passing, or intent to take, the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is encouraged and preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Willingness to learn scheduling, estimating, and standard engineering practices.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.; this position does not offer visa sponsorship and is not eligible for Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Preferred / helpful background

• Internship or co-op experience in mechanical or energy-related engineering roles.
• Familiarity with CPM/PERT scheduling, basic cost estimating, or utility industry processes.
• Demonstrated teamwork and decision-making skills in a technical environment.

• Employment type: Full-time
• Location: Hallsville, TX (onsite / local)
• Compensation grade: SP20-006
• Compensation range: $74,551.00 - $128,688.00 per year
• Physical demand level: S – Sedentary Work (lifting up to 10 lbs occasionally; mostly sitting with brief walking/standing)
• This role supports work that helps deliver safe, reliable electricity and encourages participation in professional organizations.
