What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Design Engineer to join a Custom Solutions / package engineering team focused on turbine and rotating equipment packages. You will help deliver mechanical definitions, detailed 3D CAD models and drawings, and manufacturing-ready documentation that meet project requirements and schedules.
- Create and revise 3D models and assemblies using Creo Parametric to define turbo-machinery package systems and components (fuel, lube, start systems and other supporting subsystems)
- Develop Mechanical Interface Drawings (MIDs), bills of materials (BOMs) and production drawings with accuracy and on-time delivery
- Design custom piping, hose runs, brackets and structural components and apply basic structural analysis methods where needed
- Coordinate design requirements across teams — production, purchasing, suppliers, and field service — to resolve technical issues and ensure constructability
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, process improvements) and participate in design reviews, DFMEAs and issue resolution
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the mechanical definition matches the ACS/project requirements
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (mechanical or related)
- Minimum GPA: 2.8
- Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, CAD modeling and drawing production
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent organization, time management, problem solving, and communication skills
Preferred / Top Candidate Skills
- Experience or coursework related to gas turbine systems and their operation
- Proficiency with Creo Parametric and Windchill (or equivalent PDM/PLM experience)
- Familiarity with configurable/linked data and structured BOM practices
- Basic understanding of structural analysis for piping supports and package components
Compensation & Benefits
- Summary pay range: $72,360 - $108,540 per year
