What You’ll Do

This Mechanical Engineer role supports development of mechanical content for the Product Architecture Playbook (PAP) and evaluates and integrates mechanical solutions across IT infrastructure products and systems. You will work in cross-functional teams to produce CAD models, run engineering analyses, participate in design reviews, support testing and prototyping, and document technical guidance for reuse across product lines.

• Develop and review 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings to evaluate interfaces, clearances, and integration across systems
• Contribute to mechanical requirements, standards, and design guidance within the Product Architecture Playbook (PAP)
• Participate in product architecture and design reviews to identify integration, serviceability, and manufacturability risks
• Perform mechanical evaluations, engineering analyses, prototype assessments, and testing to validate design recommendations
• Document review findings, technical recommendations, and lessons learned for inclusion in PAP content
• Work with product development teams to translate integration challenges into reusable system-level guidance
• Support resolution of mechanical compatibility issues and recommend practical design improvements
• Research relevant materials, manufacturing methods, and industry practices to inform PAP updates
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to mechanical integration, compatibility studies, and design reviews
• Manage assigned activities, communicate status and technical risks, and contribute to multiple projects as priorities change

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (including internships, co-ops, academic projects, or research)
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD tools with ability to create and review models and assemblies; Creo experience preferred
• Understanding of mechanical design principles, engineering drawings, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Basic understanding of system-level integration, interoperability, serviceability, and manufacturability principles
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple assignments

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience with product development, mechanical integration, prototyping, testing, or design reviews
• Familiarity with engineering standards, design guidelines, or technical documentation
• Experience with IT infrastructure, data center equipment, racks, enclosures, or related electromechanical products

Location & Compensation

• Location: Delaware, OH (onsite or as specified by the confidential client)
• Estimated pay: $66,371 per year (estimated)
