What You’ll Do

This entry-level Mechanical Engineer will work on product design, development, and production support for material-handling, storage, and safety-related equipment for a confidential client. The role is hands-on and involves collaborating closely with manufacturing teams to move concepts into production and improve existing products.

• Design and engineer new products and custom solutions for material handling and storage.
• Support existing designs through updates, documentation changes, and production support.
• Assist with engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs) and implement changes into production.
• Diagnose production, quality, or field issues and support corrective actions.
• Support fixture design and basic prototyping; collaborate on shop floor troubleshooting.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (welding, machining, sheet metal, fabrication).
• Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate across fabrication, welding, assembly, and quality teams.

Nice to Have

• Internship, co-op, or hands-on experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Exposure to lift products, material‑handling equipment, or industrial machinery.
• Experience with BOMs, revision control, and engineering documentation systems (PDM/MRP).

Skills & Tools

• SolidWorks (3D modeling and drawings)
• BOM creation and revision control (PDM/MRP)
• Basic GD&T, drawing standards, tolerancing, and weld symbols
• Familiarity with fabrication and assembly processes
• Root-cause analysis and continuous improvement methods

Compensation & Location

• Estimated pay: $80,707 per year (estimated).
• Location: Bloomington, MN — on-site collaboration with manufacturing teams expected.
