Overview

This listing is for Summer 2027 New Graduate opportunities. Our client is hiring a Mechanical Engineering New Graduate in Jacksonville, FL to join an MEP/Healthcare consulting team. This is an entry-level, full-time hybrid role (contractor classification also listed) focused on hands-on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design, analysis, and project execution with day-one mentorship and career development.


What You’ll Do

  • Assist in the design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems using industry tools and software, producing specifications, calculations, and code-compliant documents.
  • Support project execution as a member of project teams — help with planning, scheduling, documentation, and quality control.
  • Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and relay technical information professionally.
  • Analyze low- to medium-complexity engineering tasks and propose practical, code-compliant solutions in collaboration with senior engineers.
  • Contribute to energy-efficient, high-performance design goals aligned with industry initiatives (e.g., MEP2050, AIA2030).
  • Participate in firm quality control and safety processes to ensure deliverables meet client and regulatory expectations.
  • Learn and apply emerging best practices, tools, and BIM workflows to support integrated project delivery.

What You’ll Bring

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.

Required skills & abilities

  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design concepts, calculations, and documentation.
  • Understanding of thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics as applied to building systems.
  • Experience with HVAC load calculation software and other standard engineering tools.
  • Basic familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, eagerness to learn, and adaptability.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.

Preferred

  • Prior internship experience in building design consulting.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

Physical requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift up to 25 pounds. May occasionally drive or perform other light physical activities. Reasonable accommodations will be provided where appropriate.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Salary: $75,000 - $78,000 per year.
  • Work schedule: Full-time, hybrid.
  • Travel: Up to 5%.
