What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the design and release of custom equipment and mechanical systems from concept through production. Using SolidWorks (and AutoCAD when needed), you will create production-ready 3D models and detailed fabrication and assembly drawings, maintain BOMs and PDM documentation, and work closely with manufacturing, procurement, and engineering teams to resolve issues on the shop floor.

  • Create detailed production, fabrication, and assembly drawings using SolidWorks
  • Develop and modify 3D SolidWorks models for custom equipment and mechanical systems
  • Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the ERP system
  • Manage CAD files, revisions, and documentation via SolidWorks PDM/Vault or similar systems
  • Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and keep accurate design records
  • Support production teams by answering technical questions and troubleshooting drawing-related issues
  • Visit the manufacturing floor to verify designs, review builds, and resolve production concerns
  • Use AutoCAD as required to support specific project needs
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement throughout project execution

What We're Looking For

Designer I

  • Associate degree in Drafting & Design, Mechanical Design, or related field; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Recent graduates with relevant coursework/portfolio are encouraged to apply

Designer II

  • 2+ years of SolidWorks experience
  • Experience producing production and assembly drawings
  • Manufacturing environment experience preferred

Required Skills

  • SolidWorks drafting and 3D modeling
  • Mechanical design and drafting fundamentals
  • Production and fabrication drawing creation
  • BOM management and ERP systems familiarity
  • SolidWorks PDM/Vault or similar document management experience
  • Engineering change management (ECO) processes
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes (fabrication, machining, welding, assembly)
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Preferred Experience

  • Industrial equipment, machinery, or custom manufacturing systems design
  • Hands-on production support and troubleshooting
  • Direct interaction with fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly teams
  • Managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay range: $55,000 – $70,000 per year (actual offer depends on experience, qualifications, and internal equity)
