Essential Functions
- Primarily work in Revit to model HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection systems from redlines or design guidance
- Execute project setups in Revit for mechanical models
- Design, layout, and coordinate mechanical equipment and components within plans/rooms
- Participate in mentorship relationships with lead engineers to learn the “how” and “why” of mechanical engineering in the built environment
- Autonomously implement delegated design tasks as ability grows
- Develop Tables of Contents for Division 21, 22, 23 specifications
- Learn and perform system sizing calculations (e.g., duct static pressure, waste and vent pipe sizing) under guidance
- Check own drawings for graphical issues prior to deliverable issuance following Confidential Client’s design standards
- Collaborate with QA/QC per the firm’s design process
- Attend client meetings for observation alongside project leads to understand mechanical requirements
- Actively participate in internal project team meetings
- Work across project sectors to develop breadth as a mechanical generalist
- Engage in staffing and estimating time required for assigned tasks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent required
- Written and verbal communication skills appropriate for client/team collaboration
- Strong organizational skills preferred
- Revit experience preferred
- Proficient with common office software (word processing, spreadsheets, email)
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, and curious
- Ability to work effectively with others under deadlines
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally (phone, video, in-person)
- Visual acuity sufficient for detailed computer and drawing work
