Mechanical Designer - Science and Technology
The Mechanical Designer role is an entry-level position focused on developing foundational mechanical design skills within a collaborative engineering team. What You’ll Do
- Primarily model mechanical components and systems in Revit (HVAC, plumbing and/or fire protection) using redlines or guidance from a project lead
- Set up mechanical project models and maintain organized project files in Revit
- Design, layout and coordinate mechanical equipment and components within room plans and building systems
- Participate in mentorship with lead engineers to learn design rationale and best practices
- Execute delegated design tasks with increasing autonomy under guidance from project leads
- Prepare Table of Contents for Division 21, 22 and 23 specifications
- Learn and perform system sizing calculations (e.g., duct static pressure, waste and vent pipe sizing) under supervision
- Check drawings for graphical issues and correct work before deliverables are issued per Confidential Client’s Design Standards
- Contribute to QA/QC reviews and follow established Design Process workflows
- Observe and support client meetings alongside project designers/leads; share updates in internal team meetings
- Work across multiple project sectors to build generalist mechanical experience
- Participate in staffing and estimating by assessing time required for assigned tasks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required
- Written and verbal communication skills appropriate to the role
- Strong organizational skills preferred
- Revit experience preferred (modeling and project setup)
- Proficiency with common office software (word processing, spreadsheets, email) required
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, flexible and curious mindset required
- Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines in a team environment

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work

Compensation & Additional Details
- Estimated base salary: $57,055 per year (estimated) — final offer and benefits determined by Confidential Client and may vary by location
