Responsibilities

• Utilize SmartPlant P&ID to draft Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) under direction from design engineers.
• Create mechanical sketches, layouts, and detailed drawings for fabrication and installation.
• Prepare and check design deliverables to meet industry codes, contract requirements, and company standards.
• Navigate 3D models to identify interferences and evaluate constructability.
• Coordinate with internal and external design partners, construction teams, and equipment suppliers to review work progress and resolve issues.
• Support departmental tasks and take on progressively complex assignments as directed by the Lead Designer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Computer-Aided Design, Drafting Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with design software such as SmartPlant, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Inventor, or SolidWorks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• 0–2 years of industry-related design or drafting experience; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and a collaborative mindset when working with project teams and engineering staff.

Working Conditions & Other Requirements

• Fast-paced office environment; must interact professionally with various levels of management and project stakeholders.
• Regularly sit, stand, walk, and communicate; occasionally lift or move objects up to 30 pounds.
• Travel within the U.S. and internationally approximately 5–15% as project needs require.
• Reliable attendance and ability to meet deadlines, including occasional overtime or weekend work.
• Follow safety policies and written/oral instructions; work productively both independently and as part of a team.
