Position Summary
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Designer to join their healthcare-focused mechanical engineering team in Textile Finance, CA. This role is designed to develop foundational technical skills in system design, Revit modeling, project documentation, and interdisciplinary coordination under the mentorship of experienced engineers.
What You’ll Do
- Primarily model HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection components and systems in Revit from redlines or design guidance.
- Execute Revit project setups for mechanical models.
- Design, layout and coordinate mechanical equipment and components within rooms and plans.
- Participate in mentorship with lead engineers to learn design intent and engineering rationale.
- Implement delegated design tasks with increasing autonomy.
- Help develop Tables of Contents for Division 21, 22, and 23 specifications.
- Learn and perform system sizing calculations (e.g., duct static pressure, waste & vent pipe sizing) under guidance.
- Check your own drawings for graphical issues and conform to design standards prior to deliverable issuance.
- Collaborate with QA/QC efforts per the firm’s design process.
- Observe client meetings alongside designers/leads and participate in internal project team meetings.
- Work across project sectors to build experience as a mechanical generalist.
- Estimate time required for assigned tasks as part of staffing and scheduling.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
- Written and verbal communication skills appropriate for the role.
- Strong organizational skills preferred.
- Revit experience preferred.
- Comfortable with standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, email).
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, flexible, curious, and able to work under deadlines with teammates.
Compensation (Estimated)
- Estimated salary: $70,794 per year (estimated)
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally via phone, video, and in-person.
- Visual acuity to perform job responsibilities.
