Key Responsibilities

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level mechanical designer to develop hands-on design skills and support project teams across healthcare and other sectors. Core responsibilities include:

• Primarily working in Revit to model HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection components and systems from redlines or guidance provided by project leads
• Execute project setups in Revit for mechanical models
• Design, layout, and coordinate mechanical equipment and components within room plans and overall building layouts
• Participate in mentorships with lead engineers to learn mechanical design principles for the built environment
• Autonomously implement delegated design tasks as assigned
• Develop Tables of Contents for Division 21, 22, and 23 specifications
• Learn and perform system sizing calculations (e.g., duct static pressure, waste and vent pipe sizing) under guidance
• Check work for graphical and documentation issues prior to deliverable issuance, following Confidential Client design standards
• Collaborate with QA/QC efforts according to Confidential Client’s design process
• Observe client meetings alongside project designers/leads to learn project mechanical requirements
• Participate actively in internal project team meetings
• Work across different sectors to build experience as a mechanical generalist
• Support staffing estimates by assessing time required to complete assigned tasks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required
• Written and verbal communication skills appropriate for the role
• Strong organizational skills preferred
• Revit experience preferred; comfort with word processing and spreadsheets required
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and curious mindset
• Ability to work well with others under deadlines

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally via phone, video, and in-person
• Visual acuity sufficient to perform responsibilities
