Mechanical Design Engineer
The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of mechanical products and systems at a world-class manufacturing facility. This role involves creating 3D models and drawings, performing root cause analysis on failures, collaborating with manufacturing and validation teams, and driving product quality and cost improvements. The position offers hands-on involvement in prototype and production builds within a dynamic engineering team.

What You’ll Do
This full-time Mechanical Design Engineer role supports design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of mechanical products and systems used in off-highway equipment. You will work onsite with cross-functional teams to create 3D models and drawings, support prototype and production builds, investigate failures, and drive product improvements.
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test mechanical devices, tools, and assemblies
- Develop and modify 3D CAD models and engineering drawings (Creo preferred)
- Analyze customer specifications and proposals to assess feasibility, time, and cost
- Investigate failures and perform root cause analysis to define corrective actions
- Support prototype, pilot, and production builds; collaborate with manufacturing and validation teams
- Develop design concepts for fabricated structures, mountings, castings, machined components, tube/hose routings, and other mechanical systems
- Participate in continuous product and quality improvement initiatives
- Create and maintain engineering documentation and product structures in engineering software
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Experience in mechanical design, product development, and engineering problem-solving
- Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation (Creo preferred)
- Experience performing root cause analysis on product/component failures
- Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, drawings, and test data
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, manufacturing, and validation teams
- Hands-on ability to support prototype, pilot, and production builds
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Desired Experience
- Experience in a production environment working with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly operations
- Database management experience (for engineering data/tracking)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 - $95,000 per year (commensurate with experience) — posted to comply with applicable pay transparency requirements
