What You’ll Do

The Confidential Client is seeking a Mechanic/Technician Specialist to provide technical diagnostic support to dealer technicians and internal teams. In this role you will respond to inbound automotive calls and tickets, guide diagnostics using a standardized six-step process, research product and repair information, and ensure timely ticket resolution and follow-up.

• Respond to incoming calls and tickets from dealer technicians with clear, actionable technical guidance
• Apply a defined six-step diagnostic process to identify root causes and next steps
• Research and apply repair and product information using internal databases and tools
• Execute follow-ups on open tickets to ensure successful closure and customer satisfaction
• Escalate complex product issues and share findings with Quality, Engineering, and Technical Advisor teams

• Maintain high customer satisfaction through accurate, timely technical support
• Keep ticket documentation current and compliant with resolution protocols
• Provide technical insights and feedback that support product quality and continuous improvement
• Contribute to knowledge-base updates and best-practice documentation used by dealer networks

Schedule & Compensation

• Worksite: Auburn Hills, MI
• Engagement: 12+ months (contract duration)
• Tentative start: ASAP
• Hours: Monday–Friday; candidate must be available to work an 8-hour shift between 8:00 AM–11:00 PM ET. Saturday coverage may be required (9:00 AM–6:00 PM).
• Pay: $27–$28 per hour (W2)

• Confidential Client’s North America product databases and liaison resources

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• One of the following:
  • 1–2 years hands-on automotive repair experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree, OR
  • Technical trade school certificate in automotive or equivalent internship/similar experience
• Strong troubleshooting mindset and clear verbal/written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years working with electrification technologies (BEV, PHEV, Hybrid)
• ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Demonstrated experience with advanced diagnostic processes and automotive systems
• Strong problem-solving skills in technical support or call-center environments

Additional Requirements

• ASE Certification required within the first 6 months of employment (or as agreed with the Confidential Client)
• Ability to document technical findings clearly and follow established resolution protocols
