About the role

Confidential Client is looking for candidates for an Associate Material Process Engineer or Material Process Engineer based in Roy, UT. This is a contract, full-time position supporting defense systems work. Relocation assistance may be available. U.S. citizenship is required for roles that need U.S. Government security clearances; candidates must be able to obtain the required clearance.

What You’ll Do

You will join a materials/parts engineering team that supports program requirements, parts selection, qualification, and parts management. Typical responsibilities include:

• Analyze part and material requests against program requirements
• Review designs for compliance with parts and materials requirements
• Perform parts management and tracking tasks
• Understand procurement and qualification processes for parts and materials
• Identify necessary material properties or processes for design applications
• Recommend alternate or substitute parts where appropriate
• Review and write material and part specification documents
• Support occasional travel (approximately 10%)

Qualifications

Basic (required)

• Completing or has completed a degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution
• Degree major in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (pre-requisite)
• Ability to obtain Special Access Program access within a reasonable period, as required by business needs

Preferred

• Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
• Current internship experience with Confidential Client or previous relevant internship experience
• Relevant coursework or hands-on experience with materials characterization, materials selection, or parts qualification

Compensation & Schedule

• Employment type: Full time, Contractor
• Salary ranges (provided by client):
  • Associate Material Process Engineer: $59,900 to $89,900 per year
  • Material Process Engineer: $72,100 to $108,100 per year
• Relocation assistance: May be available
• Travel: Approximately 10% of the time
