Overview

Confidential Client is hiring Master-at-Arms personnel to provide armed security, law enforcement, and force-protection services in both shore and afloat environments. This is a safety-critical, uniformed role that includes patrols, access control, investigations, and specialty assignments such as working dogs, harbor security, corrections, or protective services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct antiterrorism and force-protection patrols, sentry and access control duties
  • Perform vehicle, personnel, and baggage inspections to detect weapons or contraband
  • Enforce traffic and parking regulations; respond to calls for service and investigate incidents
  • Collect and preserve evidence, prepare reports and maintain case files
  • Provide crowd control and law enforcement presence during events and emergencies
  • Operate and maintain small arms, crew-served weapons, non-lethal tools, and security vehicles/boats
  • Support harbor and waterside security, high-value escorts, and expeditionary security missions
  • Supervise and train junior security personnel in watchstanding, weapons handling, and security procedures

  • Fast-paced, armed, and safety-sensitive environment requiring attention to detail and sound judgment
  • Rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays to maintain 24/7 coverage
  • Regular weapons and use-of-force qualification and physical fitness standards
  • Exposure to stressful or emergency situations that require clear communication and calm decision-making
  • Path to supervisory and specialized billets (e.g., patrol supervisor, watch commander, investigator, kennel master)

Work Environment

  • Assignments at installations in the U.S. and overseas, aboard ships, and with expeditionary security units
  • Primary worksites include bases, piers, flightlines, security operations centers, kennels, and patrol vehicles
  • Opportunities for overseas, forward-deployed, and sea-duty tours; close coordination with other security forces and investigative agencies

Training, Pathways & Advancement

  • Initial recruit training followed by Master-at-Arms Class “A” School (basic law enforcement, weapons handling, antiterrorism, patrol procedures)
  • On-the-job qualification via Personnel Qualification Standards and unit training
  • Advanced schools and Navy Enlisted Classifications (examples): Military Working Dog Handler, Harbor Security Coxswain, Corrections Specialist, Small Arms Instructor, Crew-Served Weapons Instructor, Protective Service Specialist, Criminal Investigator
  • Career-long development through leadership courses, warfare qualifications, and senior enlisted programs

Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates must meet general enlistment or commissioning standards; typical requirements include:

  • Eligibility to serve under current U.S. military policy (citizenship or legal status as allowed by policy)
  • High school diploma or equivalent for enlisted roles (officer roles require a bachelor’s or qualifying degree)
  • Meet age, medical, vision, dental, and physical fitness standards applicable to the program
  • Meet character and background standards appropriate for armed law enforcement duties
  • Achieve required aptitude/test scores (e.g., ASVAB for enlisted programs)
  • Eligibility for security clearance when required

Additional expectations for this role:

  • Clean legal history and strong moral character suitable for armed law enforcement
  • Ability to qualify with small arms and other required weapons systems
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, deploy, and accept sea-duty or overseas assignments
