Overview
Confidential Client is hiring for a Master-at-Arms (Security & Law Enforcement) role. Master-at-Arms (MA) personnel provide core security, antiterrorism, and law enforcement capabilities—protecting people, installations, ships, and strategic assets. Assignments may include base and shipboard policing, force protection, harbor security, corrections, investigations, and protective services. This role requires service in a uniformed security or military context and includes weapons and tactical responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct antiterrorism and force-protection patrols on installations, piers, and other controlled areas
- Staff sentry and access-control posts; inspect vehicles, personnel, and baggage for contraband or weapons
- Enforce traffic and parking regulations; respond to calls for service and investigate incidents and accidents
- Collect and preserve evidence; prepare incident reports and case files
- Provide law-enforcement presence, crowd control, and support during special events and emergencies
- Operate and maintain small arms, crew-served weapons, non-lethal weapons, and security vehicles or boats
- Support harbor and waterside security, high-value escorts, and expeditionary security missions
- Supervise and train junior security personnel in watchstanding, weapons safety, and security procedures
What to Expect
- Fast-paced, armed, and safety-critical work requiring high attention to detail and sound judgment
- Rotating shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) to provide 24/7 coverage
- Regular weapons and use-of-force qualification and requalification
- Exposure to stressful or emergency situations; ability to remain calm and communicate clearly is essential
- Opportunity to advance into specialized billets such as patrol supervisor, watch commander, kennel master, or investigator
Work Environment
- Assignments at installations in the U.S. and overseas, aboard ships, and with expeditionary security units
- Work settings include bases, piers, flight lines, patrol vehicles, kennels, armories, and security operations centers
- Possibility of overseas or forward-deployed tours; some assignments include sea duty or dependent-restricted tours
- Frequent collaboration with other security forces, investigative agencies, and joint or host-nation partners
Pathways, Training & Advancement
- Initial recruit training followed by Master-at-Arms Class "A" School (basic law enforcement, weapons handling, antiterrorism, and patrol procedures)
- On-the-job qualification and Personnel Qualification Standards for watchstations and mission-specific tasks
- Advanced schools and Navy Enlisted Classifications (examples): Military Working Dog Handler, Kennel Master, Harbor Security Coxswain, Corrections Specialist, Small Arms Instructor, Crew-Served Weapons Instructor, Protective Service Specialist, Criminal Investigator
- Ongoing leadership courses, warfare qualifications (when assigned to qualifying commands), and senior enlisted development opportunities
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Eligibility to serve in the Confidential Client’s uniformed service (citizenship, residency, or other legal status per current policy)
- Meet medical, vision, dental, body composition, and physical fitness standards applicable to the role
- Meet character and background standards appropriate for armed security and law enforcement duties
- Ability to qualify with small arms and required weapons systems; willingness to carry firearms and equipment as directed
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, deploy, and accept sea duty or overseas assignments as required
- May require eligibility for a security clearance depending on assignment

- Typical entry: high school diploma or equivalent for enlisted duties; officer programs require a bachelor’s or qualifying degree
