What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking candidates for a Master-at-Arms / Security & Law Enforcement role focused on force protection, physical security, and law enforcement duties at naval and strategic security locations. This role combines patrol, access control, investigations, and training responsibilities in an armed security environment.
- Conduct antiterrorism and force-protection patrols on installations and piers
- Staff sentry and access-control posts; manage entry to secure areas
- Perform vehicle, personnel, and baggage inspections for weapons, contraband, and unauthorized items
- Enforce traffic and parking regulations; respond to calls for service and investigate incidents and traffic accidents
- Collect, preserve, and document evidence; prepare reports and case files
- Provide law enforcement presence, crowd control, and incident response during events and emergencies
- Operate and maintain small arms, crew-served weapons, non-lethal equipment, and security vehicles or boats
- Support harbor and waterside security, high-value unit escorts, and expeditionary security missions
- Supervise and train junior security personnel in watchstanding, weapons handling, and security procedures
What to Expect
This is an armed, safety-critical role that requires attention to detail, sound judgment, and professionalism. Expect:
- Frequent rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays to provide 24/7 coverage
- Exposure to stressful or emergency situations requiring calm decision-making and strong communication
- Ongoing weapons qualification, use-of-force training, tactical skills maintenance, and physical fitness standards
- Opportunities to progress into specialized billets such as patrol supervisor, watch commander, kennel master, or investigator
Work Environment
Assignments may include installations, piers, flight lines, patrol boats, and ships, with the potential for overseas or forward-deployed tours. Work locations and duties vary by assignment and operational need.
Qualifications
All applicants must meet general enlistment or service-entry standards. Typical requirements include:
- Eligibility to serve under current federal policy (citizenship/residency and other legal status requirements apply)
- High school diploma or equivalent for enlisted roles (officer paths require a bachelor’s or qualifying degree)
- Ability to meet medical, vision, dental, body composition, and physical fitness standards required for armed security duties
- Satisfactory character and background screening for armed law enforcement responsibilities; eligibility for security clearance when required
- Required testing and qualification scores per program (e.g., relevant service aptitude tests)
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, deploy, and accept sea or overseas assignments as required
Additional desirable experience and skills (may support advanced entry or higher paygrade consideration):
- Prior law enforcement, corrections, parole, or security practitioner experience
- Weapons qualification and experience with patrol, investigations, or corrections duties
- Experience with military working dog handling, harbor security, or protective services

Recruit training is followed by specialized Master-at-Arms “A” School and progressive on-the-job qualification. Training and development opportunities may include advanced schools and credentials for specialties such as:
- Military working dog handler / kennel master
- Harbor security coxswain and patrol leader
- Corrections specialist and criminal investigator training
- Small arms and crew-served weapons instructor courses
- Leadership, warfare qualifications, and senior enlisted leader programs
Reserve and prior-service pathways may exist depending on community needs and qualification equivalencies.
Education, Pay & Benefits
