Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring for an entry-level Marine Interdiction Agent (Border Patrol Agent / BPA) to join a federal law enforcement team based in Lonetree, CO. This full-time role involves on-the-ground enforcement, interdiction and investigation work to detect and prevent illegal entry, smuggling, and other violations of immigration and customs laws. The position includes formal training, career development, and federal benefits.


What You’ll Do

  • Conduct patrols, interdiction, and surveillance operations to detect and deter illegal entry and smuggling
  • Inspect vessels, vehicles, cargo, and persons for violations of immigration and customs laws
  • Gather and document evidence, prepare reports, and provide testimony as needed
  • Work collaboratively with other federal, state, and local law enforcement partners
  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, and evolving operational priorities—often in outdoor and maritime environments
  • Complete required training programs and maintain operational readiness

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications (meet one):

  • One year of general work experience demonstrating decision-making ability, leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm under pressure; OR
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in any field; OR
  • A combination of general work experience and college education

Additional mandatory requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years
  • Candidates must be referred for selection before their 40th birthday per law enforcement retirement provisions, unless an exception applies (e.g., current or prior federal civilian law enforcement covered by specified Title 5 provisions)
  • Veterans’ Preference and certain hiring pathways (e.g., Veterans Recruitment Appointment) may apply and can affect age restrictions

Salary & Benefits

  • Annual base salary range for newly appointed Border Patrol Agents: $51,632 – $92,219 per year
  • Confidential Client may offer additional incentives (up to $60,000 in certain programs)
  • Federal benefits package including health and dental insurance, generous leave accrual, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan (retirement savings)

  • This is a full-time federal law enforcement career path with relocation to various duty stations possible
  • Work frequently occurs outdoors, at sea, and in variable weather and shift schedules
