What You’ll Do

This entry-level Manufacturing Systems Engineer I will develop mechanical system layouts for engineer-to-order elevator products, producing customer submittal drawings that support manufacturing and installation.   • Design mechanical elevator system layouts using established product designs and engineering standards.
  • Interpret building drawings, project specifications, survey data, and mechanical/electrical requirements.
  • Create hydraulic and traction system submittal drawings for customer approval.
  • Produce accurate 2D and 3D layout drawings that account for manufacturability, assembly, and potential rework.
  • Deliver layout submittals to meet daily production schedules and quality expectations.
  • Review engineering instructions and designs for accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and improve processes.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, continuous improvement efforts, and special projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related mechanical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 1–3 years of engineering or mechanical design experience (entry-level to early-career).
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and the physics/motion dynamics of elevator components.
  • Familiarity with drafting concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret project requirements, building plans, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to create designs that consider manufacturing and assembly constraints.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow technical instructions, and meet individual production schedules.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Cloverdale, TN and travel domestically or internationally up to ~10%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in architectural, structural, or mechanical design environments.
  • AutoCAD experience for 2D drafting.
  • Basic experience with 3D CAD/modeling tools.

Compensation & Working Details

  • Estimated salary (from source data): $69,850 per year — provided as an estimate.
  • Employment type: Full-time, onsite.
  • Location: Cloverdale, TN (onsite). Candidates must be able to work onsite and commute to the Cloverdale facility.
  • Travel: <10% domestic/international travel as needed.
