Manufacturing Safety Coordinator
The Manufacturing Safety Coordinator at Confidential Client's JLG division is responsible for maintaining a safe production environment by conducting safety audits, industrial hygiene evaluations, and injury investigations. This role leads safety training, ergonomics programs, and compliance efforts, collaborating across departments to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and regulatory adherence within manufacturing facilities.

What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is looking for a Manufacturing Safety Coordinator to support plant-level safety, compliance, and injury-prevention programs. You will be a trusted resource across the production facility—performing audits, coordinating industrial hygiene testing, delivering training, and driving continuous improvement to ensure a safer workplace.
- Conduct safety audits to identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and practices; recommend corrective actions
- Investigate incidents and follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Maintain DOT program documentation and related compliance records
- Coordinate industrial hygiene testing and implement corrective actions as needed
- Develop, schedule, and deliver safety-related training required by regulations and company policy
- Produce monthly and quarterly reports to update management on program status and trends
- Strengthen and lead the ergonomics program to reduce musculoskeletal risk
- Coordinate with insurance carriers and external consultants for specialized services
- Organize and manage the Safety Representative Program to ensure worker engagement and feedback
- Work with Health Services on workers’ compensation case management
- Participate actively on the Safety Implementation Team
- Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and design teams to ensure safe design for equipment, facilities, and processes
- Recommend and help implement accident prevention programs, protective procedures, and safety devices
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field — OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Internship or practical experience in safety-related activities
Standout / Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing or production facility
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance
- Willingness to travel between plant locations as required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform basic statistical analysis and interpret safety/incident data
Compensation & Location
- Pay range (posted): $51,400.00 - $79,200.00 per year
- Location: Houston, TX (onsite, plant-based role)
- Salary within the posted range will be determined by experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Additional benefits and total rewards will be discussed during the hiring process.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
The role is based in a manufacturing or production environment and may include exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery, and temperature variations.
- May require standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, climbing, and use of hand tools or equipment
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required as applicable
- Visual and auditory acuity required for safe equipment operation and communication
