The Manufacturing Project Engineer supports project managers in executing capital projects by coordinating activities, tracking tasks, and facilitating communication across teams. What You’ll Do
This Manufacturing Project Engineer role supports capital projects and equipment installations across a hybrid manufacturing site. Typical responsibilities include:
- Support Project Managers in executing capital projects by coordinating project activities and tracking action items.
- Attend project meetings and communicate status with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Assist with equipment installations, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and validation activities.
- Help troubleshoot technical issues with engineering teams and vendors.
- Maintain project documentation, schedules, and action-item logs using project tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel).
- Split time between the office and the manufacturing floor; progressively take ownership of assigned project tasks.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 0–2 years of engineering experience (internships and co-ops count).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Technical aptitude and a willingness to learn in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
- PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or other project-management certifications are a plus (not required).
- Exposure to manufacturing processes, automation, or robotics.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methods.
- Experience with Microsoft Project and advanced Excel for project tracking.
Compensation & Schedule
- Compensation: $35.00 – $40.43 per hour (contract).
- Work model: Hybrid — on-site time required on the manufacturing floor and in the office.
- Typical hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Location
- Ramsey, NJ (local to the manufacturing site; on-site presence required as noted).
