What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations in Winder, GA. This role focuses on driving process improvements, reducing manufacturing costs, increasing productivity, and supporting capital and automation projects. This posting represents two levels of the same role: entry-level (1+ years) and senior (5+ years) with expanded responsibility.
- Lead and implement process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives across the plant.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and deliver solutions to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing practices (flow manufacturing, 5S, visual management, Kanban).
- Support automation projects, equipment upgrades, and new manufacturing technology rollouts.
- Develop, justify, and manage capital projects from concept through implementation.
- Maintain plant layouts, work instructions, process documentation, and engineering change records.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment issues; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Tooling, and Purchasing to improve manufacturability and material flow.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Entry-level: 1+ years relevant manufacturing engineering experience (including internships/co-ops).
- Senior-level: 5+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of larger or more complex projects.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication, assembly operations, or discrete manufacturing is a plus.
- Proven success leading process improvement and cost reduction projects.
- Experience supporting capital equipment or automation projects preferred.
Skills & Tools
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Effective problem-solving, analytical, and project-management skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software preferred; PLC programming or troubleshooting is a plus.
Success Measures
Success in this role will be measured by improvements in safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction, process efficiency, equipment utilization, and the successful delivery of continuous improvement and capital projects.
