Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a hands-on, production-focused role in the Waterloo, IA area. This is a 24-month contract (possible extension) supporting manufacturing and distribution operations with an emphasis on quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

• Support manufacturing and distribution operations to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
• Conduct time studies and work‑measurement analyses to support labor standards and incentive pay programs.
• Develop, evaluate, and optimize manufacturing methods, tooling, equipment, and production processes.
• Participate in preventive maintenance and facility improvement activities.
• Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and technical procedures.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (production, quality, maintenance, engineering) to identify and resolve production challenges.
• Provide hands‑on support on the shop floor (approximately 60% of the workday).
• Analyze operational data and prepare reports using Microsoft Office and other business tools.
• Support manufacturing operations with flexible scheduling as business needs require.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Preferred: 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
• Entry‑level candidates with relevant internships, co‑op experience, or project work will also be considered.
• Experience with manufacturing processes, quality systems, tooling, and facility support.
• Knowledge of time studies, work‑measurement techniques, and labor standards.
• Strong technical writing, documentation, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay rate: $35.00 – $45.00 USD per hour.
• Employment type: Full‑time, contract (24 months, possible extension).
• Typical schedule will include time on the production floor; flexible scheduling may be required to meet business needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for approximately 60% of the workday.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs as required.
