Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a hands-on, production-focused role in the Waterloo, IA area. This is a 24-month contract (possible extension) supporting manufacturing and distribution operations with an emphasis on quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Support manufacturing and distribution operations to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Conduct time studies and work‑measurement analyses to support labor standards and incentive pay programs.
- Develop, evaluate, and optimize manufacturing methods, tooling, equipment, and production processes.
- Participate in preventive maintenance and facility improvement activities.
- Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and technical procedures.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (production, quality, maintenance, engineering) to identify and resolve production challenges.
- Provide hands‑on support on the shop floor (approximately 60% of the workday).
- Analyze operational data and prepare reports using Microsoft Office and other business tools.
- Support manufacturing operations with flexible scheduling as business needs require.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Preferred: 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
- Entry‑level candidates with relevant internships, co‑op experience, or project work will also be considered.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, quality systems, tooling, and facility support.
- Knowledge of time studies, work‑measurement techniques, and labor standards.
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis.
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay rate: $35.00 – $45.00 USD per hour.
- Employment type: Full‑time, contract (24 months, possible extension).
- Typical schedule will include time on the production floor; flexible scheduling may be required to meet business needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for approximately 60% of the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs as required.

- Waterloo, IA (onsite / production‑floor presence required ~60% of the day).
