What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an early-career Manufacturing Engineer to provide hands-on production support on a mid-shift / night-shift schedule. This is a development-focused role with strong exposure to day-to-day manufacturing operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Provide hands-on production support during mid-shift (approximately 12:00 PM–8:30 PM): machine maintenance, process troubleshooting, quality attainment, and safety prioritization.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, improve throughput, increase equipment uptime, and improve ergonomics.
- Partner with production supervisors, operators, maintenance, quality, and other engineers to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and stabilize processes.
- Update and maintain process documentation: SOPs, control plans, and master data.
- Support equipment and process improvements from problem definition through implementation and verification.
- Assist with data collection and analysis to support process changes, new equipment, and new-product introductions.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure work is completed with attention to EHS, quality, compliance, and operational risk.
What We Seek
The role is best suited to an early-career engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving in a production environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering preferred; Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering considered.
- 1–3 years of engineering experience preferred; ability to apply engineering fundamentals and grow toward more independent work.
- Ability and willingness to work a mid-shift / night-shift schedule (approximately 12:00 PM–8:30 PM).
- Strong hands-on problem-solving mindset with interest in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and equipment reliability.
- Clear communicator with operators, technicians, supervisors, and cross-functional partners.
- Basic understanding of engineering analysis, data review, root cause evaluation, and structured problem solving.
- Demonstrated ownership, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a production setting.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Internship, co-op, undergraduate project, or early-career experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, semiconductor, cleanroom, high-purity, or regulated production environments.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, 5S, waste reduction, or other continuous improvement methods.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with JMP/Minitab, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
- Exposure to root-cause tools such as 5-Why, fishbone diagrams, Pareto analysis, or basic SPC.
- Interest or potential to develop project-management skills: scope definition, timeline tracking, vendor coordination, installation support, and post-implementation verification.
Compensation & Benefits
The following compensation range was provided by the hiring organization and will be considered in candidate evaluation:
- Base salary: $71,500 – $95,000 per year (actual pay dependent on candidate skills and experience)
