Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support world-class manufacturing operations serving the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices, and manufacturing industry. This role helps design and optimize manufacturing processes, production layouts, equipment installation, and SPC-related controls. Entry-level candidates with a relevant engineering degree are encouraged to apply.

Estimated salary: $71,175 per year (estimated)


Responsibilities

  • Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Design and optimize the arrangement of machinery and equipment within plant facilities to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop sequences of operations and specify procedures for fabrication of tools, equipment, and other functions that impact product performance.
  • Adapt machine and equipment designs to meet factory and production requirements.
  • Incorporate inspection and testing requirements into manufacturing and production plans.
  • Evaluate performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify efficiency and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Investigate manufacturing problems and implement corrective actions to address deficiencies and ensure product quality.
  • Develop manufacturing processes applicable to Statistical Process Control (SPC) and support implementation of statistical techniques.
  • Provide engineering guidance on design concepts and specification requirements to optimize use of equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and procedures comply with applicable regulations, standards, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 0+ years of relevant experience — entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production layouts, equipment, machining, and material handling.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment design, installation, and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and basic statistical techniques preferred.
  • Ability to identify manufacturing issues, evaluate equipment performance, and support corrective actions.
  • Understanding of quality requirements, inspection and testing processes, and applicable manufacturing regulations.
  • Ability to interpret engineering concepts, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other cross-functional teams.

Working Conditions & Notes

  • Employment Type: Full-time (typical for this role).
  • Location: Puerto Rico (on-site / plant-based role unless otherwise specified by the client).
