What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Manufacturing Engineer to support on-site manufacturing operations at their Minden, LA campus. You will work with production teams and engineering groups to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost through data-driven process improvements.
- Support day-to-day floor operations, tooling design, gauging, quality, and efficiency initiatives.
- Collect, analyze, and act on manufacturing data and metrics (scrap, DMRs, process stops) to drive improvements.
- Design and document processes, pFMEAs, process routers, equipment PMs, and other process documents to meet customer and internal quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP).
- Troubleshoot machine and tooling problems; support Defective Material Report (DMR) resolution and reduce process stops.
- Apply LEAN and Six Sigma tools to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Participate as an active member of a High-Performance Work Team (HPWT) / focus factory to support on-time delivery.
- Support new product launches and manufacturing launches through established launch teams.
- Manage small process-improvement projects, including scope, schedule, budgets, and implementation documentation.
- Provide technical and functional support across manufacturing, design engineering, and operations teams.
- Use CAD tools (2D/3D) to support tooling and process documentation; recommend design changes to improve manufacturability and profitability.
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (accredited institution).
- Authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
- Located within a 50-mile radius of Minden, LA (no relocation assistance). Active-duty military candidates are exempt from the geographic restriction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or co-op experience in engineering, manufacturing, or a related environment.
- ~1 year of manufacturing engineering experience or participation in engineering projects.
- Experience with 2D/3D CAD and detailed drawing creation (SOLIDWORKS preferred).
- Lean and/or Six Sigma training or certification.
- Experience in high-mix/low-volume manufacturing, hose assembly, manual assembly/test, metal fabrication, welding/brazing, or chemical processes.
Compensation, Work Type & Logistics
- Employment type: FULL_TIME.
- Estimated salary range: $71,000 – $105,000 per year. Position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Actual pay depends on skills, experience, and qualifications.
- On-site position at Confidential Client’s Minden, LA manufacturing campus.
- Limited travel (<10%) may be required.
- No relocation benefit is offered for this role.
Skills & Tools
- Proficient with SOLIDWORKS or similar CAD/CAM tools.
- Comfortable applying LEAN, Six Sigma, pFMEA, and traditional manufacturing engineering methods.
- Strong data analysis skills for manufacturing metrics (scrap, throughput, DMR).
- Effective verbal communication and teamwork; ability to work across multiple projects and teams.
