Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer 1 (Entry Level) for a weekend shift on-site in Mount Vernon, Indiana. This role begins with day-shift training then transitions to a 3-day weekend schedule (12-hour shifts) — Friday through Sunday — paid as a 40-hour workweek. The Manufacturing Engineer 1 will coordinate program activities, develop recovery plans, review contract and design requirements, and support quotes and design changes in a heavy manufacturing environment that supports defense, clean energy, and medical isotope production.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary point of contact and coordinator for assigned programs.
- Assist in developing and implementing detailed recovery plans for projects.
- Review contract and design requirements to support acceptance of quality notifications.
- Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables; escalate issues as needed.
- Collaborate with the Unit Manager to monitor and improve contract performance metrics.
- Interface with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to manage design changes to components.
- Support quotes for new work by reviewing technical requirements and preparing person‑hour estimates.
- Take on special assignments as required to support business objectives.
Location & Schedule
- On-site: Mount Vernon, Indiana (IN).
- Schedule: Start on day shift for training; then transition to a 3-day weekend schedule (12-hour shifts), Friday–Sunday. Pay will be for forty hours, three days per week.
Required Qualifications
- BQ — Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology) or Physics.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required (federal contractor requirement).
- Ability to train on first (day) shift before moving to weekend schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience providing engineering support in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools.
- Familiarity with SAP preferred.
- Degree variants considered: Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Civil Engineering.

Compensation
- Pay range (Indiana): $65,000 — $103,000 per year. Final base salary will be determined by local market factors and candidate qualifications. Total compensation may include additional elements such as annual cash incentives and benefits.
