What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Manufacturing Associate I to support assembly and packaging operations in a cGMP-regulated, multi-product biotechnology/pharmaceutical facility in Union City, CA. This is an entry-level hourly role focused on executing routine unit operations and maintaining GMP-compliant documentation and practices.

  • Execute routine assembly and packaging unit operations as assigned.
  • Assist with setup and operation of automated autoinjector assembly machines, pre-filled syringe assembly machines, and semi-automated tabletop equipment.
  • Support equipment changeovers, perform minor adjustments/repairs, and assist with troubleshooting mechanical or component issues.
  • Retrieve components and equipment from storage and ensure materials are stocked prior to operations.
  • Perform and document work in controlled documents (batch records, logbooks, SOP attachments).
  • Assist with visual inspection and filling operations as required.
  • Support room cleaning, sanitization, proper waste disposal, and maintenance of 5S production standards.
  • Verify equipment is identified, used, and documented properly, including calibration verification.
  • Follow all SOPs, company policies, and cGMP documentation practices; escalate safety or quality concerns appropriately.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1+ years of work experience in a GMP-regulated environment (biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, conversions).
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Basic computer skills — familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word), Outlook, and other computer-based systems.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain required qualifications for assigned work.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or vocational training in biotechnology or related field.
  • Prior experience with autoinjector or pre-filled syringe assembly.
  • Familiarity with equipment calibration procedures and basic mechanical troubleshooting.

Compensation & Employment Type

  • Pay range: $19.52 – $24.52 per hour (hourly, non-exempt).
  • Employment type: Full-time (hourly). Exact schedule, shift, and hours to be provided by Confidential Client during interview/offer.
