What You’ll Do
You will join Confidential Client’s operations team as a Manager Trainee in Sacramento, CA, and be trained to manage small driver counts and non-traditional shifts (including nights/weekends). This is an entry-level management role within logistics and supply chain operations focused on safe, on-time freight movement, driver and yard management, DOT compliance, and customer service.
- Learn to build and maintain professional relationships with drivers and outside carriers to support onboarding, retention, and productivity.
- Support daily load assignment, routing, monitoring, and freight exception resolution to meet customer requirements.
- Assist with driver training, orientation, and use of company and customer systems.
- Participate in payroll administration, Net-Revenue budget tasks, driver counseling, accident reviews, invoicing, and basic P&L analysis.
- Support yard operations: inspect equipment, coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance, and ensure safety-related mechanical issues are addressed.
- Help maintain the Company's safety culture through daily safety messages, briefings, training and enforcement of DOT and company policies.
- Fill in for absent personnel and work on process improvement initiatives to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
- Prepare and present customer-specific reporting and basic financial analysis as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with ≥1 year experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience.
- Willingness to work multiple shifts (including nights and weekends) and travel to customer or company sites when required.
- Willingness to regionally relocate depending on account assignment.
- This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Compensation
The expected starting pay for this position is between $50,700.00 - $63,400.00 per year. Factors affecting starting pay may include skills, education, experience, and geography. This role may be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives per company plans.

Work Experience & Education
