What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level management training role supporting day-to-day fleet and yard operations for a confidential client in the logistics & warehouse industry. You will be trained to lead a small driver count and/or non-traditional shifts (including nights and weekends), ensure safe and timely freight movement, and support compliance with DOT and company policies.

  • Learn to build and maintain professional relationships with drivers and outside carriers to support onboarding, retention, and productivity.
  • Assist with load assignment, routing, monitoring, and delivery management to provide safe, on-time service.
  • Support driver coaching, counseling, and safety communications (daily messages, monthly briefings, quarterly training).
  • Learn personnel management tasks including orientation, training, and support for internal and customer systems.
  • Perform or support administrative duties: payroll, invoice processing, resolving pay issues, filing and documentation, and basic P&L/operational reporting.
  • Assist with yard management: equipment inspections, coordinating maintenance and repairs, and ensuring preventative maintenance schedules are met.
  • Help analyze performance metrics, recommend operational improvements, and prepare customer-specific reporting and financial analysis.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed to resolve service issues, routing conflicts, mechanical problems, and other exceptions.
  • Support DOT compliance and safety program enforcement.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 1 year of relevant experience (management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management), or equivalent military experience.
  • Willingness to work across multiple shifts (including nights and weekends) and to travel to customer/account locations as needed.
  • Willingness to regionally relocate depending on account assignment.
  • This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Preferred

  • Prior experience managing or supervising a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and judgment skills; ability to analyze situations and make productive decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain working relationships with drivers, vendors, peers, and customers.
  • Comfortable working in changing environments and on cross-functional projects.
  • Experience with DOT compliance, fleet operations, or supply chain reporting is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $58,267 per year (estimated).
  • Expected schedule: 45 work hours per week (5 hours paid at overtime rate).
  • May be eligible for annual bonus/incentives per company plans.
  • Benefits for full-time employees typically include: medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, paid time off (vacation/sick), parental leave, and paid holidays. Eligibility and plan details depend on role and tenure.
