What You’ll Do

Under general supervision, you will complete a structured training program to learn day-to-day management of a small driver count and/or non-traditional shifts (including nights and weekends). You will be trained to ensure DOT compliance, safe and timely movement of freight, load assignment, and best-in-class customer service. This role will prepare you to manage drivers, carriers, and operational tasks that support profitable fleet performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Learn to build and maintain professional relationships with drivers and outside carriers to support carrier setup and reduce turnover
  • Assist with load assignment, routing, monitoring, and on-time delivery performance
  • Support personnel management tasks such as driver training, onboarding, and orientation
  • Help analyze performance metrics, prepare customer reporting, and contribute to continuous improvement recommendations
  • Learn administrative duties including payroll support, driver counseling documentation, invoicing, and basic P&L review
  • Support yard operations, inspections, coordination with maintenance, and basic equipment repairs as needed
  • Respond to service issues, mechanical problems, routing questions, and freight exceptions during assigned shifts and when on-call
  • Maintain and promote a safety-first culture with driver safety messages, briefings, and training to ensure DOT and company compliance

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year of relevant experience (management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management) or equivalent military experience
  • Willingness to work multiple shifts including nights and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to travel to customer, account, and company events and to regionally relocate depending on account assignment
  • Preferred: experience managing a team, strong conflict-resolution and analytical skills, adaptability, and excellent communication with drivers, clients, and peers

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $71,918 per year (estimated) — starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications
  • This position may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives per company plans
  • Benefits for full-time hires typically include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, short- and long-term disability, paid time off (vacation & sick), parental leave, and paid holidays — subject to eligibility and plan terms
