What You’ll Do
This Manager Trainee position with our confidential client is an entry-level leadership role in logistics and supply chain operations. You will be trained to manage a small driver fleet and non-traditional shifts, ensure on-time freight movement, support DOT compliance, and deliver excellent customer service while developing operational and people-management skills.
- Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and outside carriers to support onboarding, retention, and productivity.
- Cover for absent personnel and participate on projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
- Support personnel management tasks including driver training, orientation, and assistance with internal and customer systems.
- Track and help improve key performance indicators; prepare and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis.
- Assist with inventory, asset management, driver assignment, and equipment balancing across markets.
- Perform administrative responsibilities such as payroll support, net-revenue budget tracking, driver counseling, accident reviews, invoicing, and operational reporting.
- Help manage yard operations, coordinate maintenance, and ensure safety-related mechanical issues are addressed promptly.
- Work with drivers, customers, and internal teams to resolve routing, service, mechanical, and accessorial pay issues during operations and while on call.
- Support the company’s safety program (daily safety messages, monthly briefings, quarterly training, annual reviews) and help enforce DOT and company policies.
- Assign loads, plan and route freight, monitor movement, and manage exceptions to meet customer requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field; OR High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year of relevant experience (management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management), or equivalent military experience.
- Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company events as needed.
- Ability to work across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends, if required.
- Willingness to regionally relocate depending on account assignment.
- This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits
Estimated base (reported): $70,827 per year (estimated). Actual starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications. The role may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volume, according to company plans.
