What You’ll Do
Under general supervision, you will be trained to manage a small driver pool and/or non-traditional shifts (including nights and weekends) to ensure safe, on-time freight movement and excellent customer service. Key responsibilities include:
- Learn to build and maintain professional relationships with drivers and outside carriers to support new carrier setup, reduce turnover, and maximize productivity
- Support operations by filling in for absent personnel and contributing to projects that optimize fleet performance and profitability
- Assist with personnel management tasks including driver orientation, training, and coordination with internal and third‑party systems
- Help measure and report on KPIs, prepare customer-specific reports and financial analyses, and recommend continuous improvements
- Gain experience managing inventory, equipment assets, customer pools and driver assignments to balance market equipment
- Support administrative activities such as payroll tasks, net-revenue budget tracking, driver counseling, accident reviews, invoicing, and basic P&L review
- Assist with yard operations: inspect equipment, coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance, and liaise with maintenance teams
- Work with drivers, customers, and internal teams to resolve service, routing, mechanical, and accessorial-pay issues (including on-call support when required)
- Learn and promote DOT and company safety policies: deliver safety briefings, enforce compliance, and participate in driver training and reviews
- Assign loads and assist with planning, routing, and monitoring freight to meet customer schedules and manage freight exceptions
Who You Are
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience
- Willing to travel to customer and company locations as needed
- Ability to work multiple shifts, including nights and weekends
- Willingness to regionally relocate depending on account assignment

Compensation & Benefits
- The expected starting pay range for this position is $50,700 to $63,400 per year. Factors that may affect starting pay include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications.
- This role may be eligible for annual bonus or incentive programs based on profitability or volumes, per company plans in effect.
- Typical benefits for full‑time employees (subject to eligibility) include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, short- and long-term disability, paid time off (vacation and sick), six weeks paid maternity leave plus two weeks paid parental leave, and six paid holidays annually.

- Employment types: Full-time (primary), and may include Contractor or Internship assignments depending on account needs.
- Schedule: Multi-shift coverage required; may include nights, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.

- Role may require regional relocation or travel to customer/account locations depending on assignment.
