What You’ll Do
This Manager Trainee position with a Confidential Client in the Logistics & Warehouse industry is an entry-level management development role focused on learn-by-doing leadership of fleet and driver operations.
- Learn to manage a small driver count and/or non-traditional shifts (including nights and weekends) to ensure safe, timely freight movement.
- Support load assignment, routing, and freight monitoring to meet customer requirements and on-time delivery expectations.
- Train with emphasis on DOT compliance and maintain driver and company regulatory adherence.
- Build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and outside carriers; assist with carrier setup and retention efforts.
- Assist with personnel management tasks: driver orientation/training, counseling, payroll support, and documentation.
- Support operational and financial reporting: KPI tracking, P&L analysis, invoicing, and customer-specific reporting.
- Help manage yard operations: inspect equipment, coordinate routine maintenance, and ensure safety-related mechanical issues are addressed.
- Participate in resolving service, routing, mechanical, or accessorial pay issues with drivers, customers, and internal teams (including on-call as needed).
- Contribute to the company safety culture: daily safety messages, monthly briefings, quarterly training, and enforcement of safety/DOT policies.
- Support special projects and fill in for absent personnel to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year related experience (management, logistics, account management), or equivalent military experience.
- Willingness to travel to customer/account locations when needed.
- Ability to work multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.
- Willingness to regionally relocate depending on account assignment.
- This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated salary: $66,641 per year (estimated).
- This role may be eligible for annual bonus and incentive programs based on profitability or volumes, subject to plan terms.
- Benefits for full-time positions (subject to eligibility): medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, short- and long-term disability, paid time off (vacation/sick), six weeks paid maternity leave + two weeks paid parental leave, and six paid holidays annually.
