Role Overview
This Manager Trainee role (Logistics & Fleet Operations) based in Dublin, OH is an entry-level management position focused on learning to run a small driver operation and non-traditional shifts while ensuring safe, on-time freight movement. The trainee will be trained on DOT compliance, driver and carrier management, routing and planning, and operational reporting for our confidential client.
What You’ll Do
- Learn to assign loads, plan routes, and monitor freight movement to meet customer requirements and deliver on-time service.
- Train with experienced operations staff to ensure compliance with DOT and company safety policies.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with drivers and third-party carriers to support productivity and reduce turnover.
- Support personnel management tasks: training/orientation, driver counseling, payroll assistance, and resolving pay issues.
- Support inventory and asset management, balancing equipment in the market and managing yard operations (inspections, coordinating repairs).
- Assist with administrative and financial tasks: invoicing, P&L review, Net-Revenue budget assistance, and operational reporting.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives: measure key performance indicators and recommend process improvements.
- Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
- Provide customer-facing support (including onsite interactions) and respond to service, routing, or mechanical issues as they arise; may be on-call as required.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of relevant experience (management, transportation/logistics, account management, military equivalent).
- Willingness to work multiple shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Willingness to travel to customer, account, and company locations and to regionally relocate depending on account assignment.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without employment-based sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience supervising or managing a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with drivers, customers, vendors, and peers.
- Strong communication skills across written, verbal, and in-person channels.
- Comfortable analyzing operational and financial data and preparing reports.
Compensation & Benefits
- Expected starting pay range: $43,800 – $65,700 per year (starting pay depends on skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications).
- May be eligible for annual bonuses or incentives based on profitability or volume (per company plans).

- Job location: Dublin, OH (43016).
- Work includes onsite operations work, interaction with drivers and customers, and occasional travel to account/customer locations.
- Must be willing to work non-traditional shifts and be available for on-call duties as required.
