What You’ll Do

Under general supervision, you will be trained to manage small driver rosters and non-traditional shifts (including nights and weekends) to ensure safe, timely movement of freight. You will learn load assignment, routing, monitoring, and customer-facing communication while ensuring DOT and company compliance.

  • Learn to assign loads, plan routes, and monitor freight movement to meet on-time delivery targets
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with drivers and trusted carrier partners
  • Support driver compliance, safety messaging, and DOT requirements
  • Monitor KPIs, create customer-specific reports, and assist with financial analysis
  • Assist with yard and equipment checks; coordinate maintenance and preventative service
  • Learn personnel management tasks including training, onboarding, payroll support, and driver counseling
  • Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects to optimize fleet operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day fleet operations: load assignment, routing, ETA management, and exception handling
  • Learn to manage inventory, assets, and driver assignment to balance equipment and capacity
  • Assist with administrative duties: payroll inputs, invoicing, P&L review, documentation, and operational reporting
  • Participate in safety programs: daily safety messages, monthly briefings, quarterly training, and annual reviews
  • Resolve service issues with drivers, customers, and internal teams, including on-call support when required
  • Recommend process improvements and contribute to profitability initiatives

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain or related field OR High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year of relevant experience (management, transportation/logistics, account management) or equivalent military experience
  • Willingness to work varied shifts (including nights/weekends) and travel to customer/account locations when needed
  • Willing to regionally relocate depending on account assignment
  • Ability to learn DOT compliance and safety procedures

Preferred

  • Experience supervising or managing a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial information (basic P&L familiarity)
  • Clear communication skills and ability to build relationships with drivers, vendors and customers
  • Comfort with adapting to changing priorities and fast-paced operations

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $63,181 per year (estimated figure from source; actual starting pay may vary based on experience, skills, and location)
  • May be eligible for annual bonus/incentive programs based on profitability or volume

  • Location: Conroe, TX (must be able to work locally and travel regionally as required)
